I just got back from Chicago, where I presented at the AT&T Focus Conference, which is one of their user conferences. I was recruited by the guys at BCR to provide a training session on network security. This was a little different than most of my presentations, which are focused on VoIP security.
I gave an overview of the current state of security (often quoting the latest CSI computer security survey) and discussed network-based security and managed security services (both of which AT&T offer). I made the point that even if an enterprise uses network-based security, along with strong perimeter security, you still need to security critical business applications, such as VoIP. And so I wrapped up my presentation by covering how you can security your VoIP application. I also reminded people about security issues with their traditional voice systems.
I did two presentation - both to around 50-100 people.
